Dear family,

It’s so exciting to be here again. I’ve never looked forward to any day in a week quite like I do my preparation days. They are gradually moving up to become my favorite days of the week. Why?  I get to communicate with you all and hear about what may be happening in your lives. How are you? How are you really? I miss you all and really do care about you.

This week has been INCREDIBLE! I have felt the influence of the Holy Spirit in my life and in the life of Soeur Obalana. We have been called to serve as Sister Training Leaders a second time but this time to serve the sisters in the French Branch for the rest of our stay here in the MTC. It’s exciting and maybe challenging. It also has been a blessing. On Sunday, we taught in the Relief Society class full of sisters who speak no English at all. The experience was spirit-filled! With careful preparation and much prayers, we were blessed with the Spirit of God to teach the lesson to the understanding of ALL. In retrospect, I wonder how we were able to understand their contributions, their questions and how we found the right words for their answers. I felt good in that meeting and I just can’t wait to have many more days such as this as I proceed to the mission field.
I have felt the intensity of some blessings Christ promised us, blessings we all enjoy if we try ever so steadily to draw near to Him. I’ve heard these words before, but during one of our devotionals, I felt the words settle on my mind and I reflected on them, I hope you do too. In John 14:27 CHRIST says,
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth give I unto you, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”. In the thirty-third verse of the sixteenth chapter of the same book He says,
“These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulations but BE OF GOOD CHEER, I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD”.
What do these words mean to you? Such great promises and assurances from the one who is mighty to save, our Redeemer and LORD. The PRINCE of PEACE!
The year gradually draws to a close and its a great time to think of CHRIST’s atonement for us and the blessings we receive. Also important is the need for us to rethink our service to and demonstration of love for Him. What will you do today and the rest of your life to merit the peace CHRIST gives? BE OF GOOD CHEER
Avec bonheur,
Soeur OTOO.
